To Be In Love With Love Itself
~ Written December 19, 2024. Reflections on the purity of love and its selfless, ever-giving nature.
I am in love with love itself… the purity, beauty, and vastness it reveals. What is left of me is continually merging into this love. I am that. Mortals cannot enter here. Even I am checked at the door. ~ Shambo
Without love’s presence, in the many forms it can take, we lose hope. Without hope we flounder for purpose and meaning. A pet, a plant, a hobby, a friend… all can be focal points of pure love. Love IS attention.
Many confuse love with romance… and while the two do intersect… the highest forms of love are non-personal in the sense that they are devoid of seeking. Romantic love often carries with it the subtle desire for reciprocity… for fulfillment through another.
But true love… in its highest, most selfless form… seeks nothing. It simply IS. It flows naturally… like sunlight warming the earth… asking for nothing in return.
